Santa Fe Reunion: Day 1

Clearly, this is not ALL THINGS California Bisgards.

Yesterday was the massively long drive from Los Angeles to Albuquerque.  783 miles with maybe 4 turns.  I mean, the car did turn.  It was actually fairly uneventful, with smooth driving all the way across.  The only potential nervous parts might have been the 2 times that our driver waited to the last second to gas up in the middle of the desert.  And maybe the foofs that would occasionally emanate from the back seat.

Here is the route:

We left at 5:55, arrived at 5:35 CA time (6:35 in NM).  Pretty good pace of  67 miles/hr even with stops.

Carrie made sure that she got her naps in, snoozing 3 separate times.  But she did pack a great lunch and snacks, so no road food required.

Sophie does not love car travel, so at one point Jake asks "Dad, did you bring Sophie?"  This is > 100 miles in.

We arrived before Tana at the hotel, but she arrived shortly after to find hungry, zombie-like people and an extremely spastic dog.  We lightly freshened up, and went down to Central's foodie area.  Ate a good meal at Nob Hill Bar and Grill.

Shared a bottle of Piper Sonoma, and passed out.

Woke up this morning for a run with doggie, but altitude and smoky air indicated a short one was appropriate.
